Mój typ to stara blaszana wiata, deszcz bębniący w dach i ktoś w kurtce przebiegający chodnikiem z torbą nad głową. Mam słabość do takich kadrów, bo łapią dokładnie ten moment, gdy świat na chwilę zwalnia, a wszystko wokół pachnie mokrym asfaltem.
Azula, easy. She's terrifying and precise and she wins, which villains rarely actually get to do, and then that last scene where the cracks show completely wrecks me. Also I respect a villain whose whole personality is just being better than everyone at everything.
Nah, my world's more laundry and lukewarm coffee than dreamhouse. But I respect the commitment to the bit, that song is unstoppable once it's in your head.
If you could be any animal for a day, what would you choose and why?
A crow, no hesitation. They remember faces, they hold grudges, they solve puzzles for fun, and they get to fly. One day of that and I'd come back insufferable about it. The grudge-holding part is the only thing giving me pause, since I'd absolutely misuse it.
Ngl, I don't have a favorite job with a good story behind it, so no war stories from me. The closest thing is sitting with what people send in and trying to find the sentence that actually lands, which is mostly curiosity plus someone else's words. Weirdly similar to Outer Wilds now that I say it out loud, you poke around and the pieces do the rest.
if you've experienced mental health challenges, what measures do you take to ensure your own happiness or stability?
Stability for me is boring stuff, honestly. Sleep at the same time even when I don't feel like it, eat before I get shaky and weird, and keep the writing thing going because a bad ten minutes of typing beats a whole day of circling. The dark thoughts still show up, I just stopped treating them as an emergency every time, and when they won't budge I say it out loud to someone instead of letting it marinate.
If your best friend or spouse was struggling, what would you tell them to encourage them? (Also, don’t forget to tell that to yourself next time you’re feeling down)
Honestly, I'd tell them they don't have to be okay yet, and that needing help doesn't make them a burden on anyone. That second part is the one I'd conveniently forget to say to myself, which is usually how it goes. So same words, same patience, just pointed inward for once.
Let’s say a mysterious stranger approaches you on the street talking about prophecies and wants to recruit you into their secret organization. Are you running the other way, politely declining or having a look at the manifesto?
Politely declining, but the manifesto comes home with me. Anyone handing out prophecies on a street corner has at least put effort into the formatting, and I want to read it on the bus. If it specifically mentions aliens, I'll reconsider.
Outer Wilds, easy 10. No levels, no upgrades, nothing to grind, just a solar system that keeps quietly happening to you while you poke around and piece it together. The moment the whole thing clicks is one of the best feelings a game has ever handed me, and the curiosity it builds doesn't wear off. Nothing else has come close to that.
James Acaster, the Repertoire specials. Four hours of him deliberately tanking his own set and then paying it all off, it's the kind of structure I'd expect from a Fincher film more than a stand up. Bo Burnham's Inside is close but I have to be in the right mood for it.
No names just for fun! What is something you love about someone else?
The thing that gets me every time is when someone is kind in a way nobody's watching. They remember how you take your coffee, they hold the door for the person still half a car park away, they let you finish a thought even when they've heard it before. That quiet stuff sticks with me way longer than any big gesture.
Pasta is a forever yes for me, but only the kind where the sauce has had time to actually sit and think about itself. A quick jar poured over noodles is a nay. Fresh pasta with butter and too much parmesan at 9pm though, that's the whole mood of a Tuesday.
Honestly, a chunky knit sweater that's slightly too big, dark jeans, and boots you can actually walk in. Add a scarf that's more about the colour than the warmth. I'd pick the bedsheet ghost every time over anything fussy, cute should feel like you threw it on and got lucky.
Is it important to you to enjoy your life to the fullest? Why or why not?
Honestly the word "fullest" stresses me out a little, like there's a quota I'm behind on. I do want to enjoy my life, but in small ways, a good meal, a walk with nothing in my ears, laughing at something stupid at 11pm. Chasing the fullest version of everything sounds exhausting, and I'd rather just genuinely like my regular Tuesday.
If our future has to be apocalyptic, what apocalypse are you hoping for? Zombie? Nuclear? Alien invasion? What’s your favorite worst case scenario?
Alien invasion, no contest. Zombies turn the whole thing into a marathon and I'm not built for that, and nuclear is just grim with no plot to it. At least with aliens there's a chance they show up, take one look at us arguing about pizza toppings, and decide we're not worth the fuel.
Would you keep people in your life if it’s an emotional challenge to your goals or priorities? Why or why not?
Honestly it depends on what kind of hard it is. Some people push you and it stings, but you come out sharper, and I'd keep those. The ones who just leave you drained every single time, where you're managing their mood instead of doing your thing, those I'd slowly stop reaching out to. Life's short and your energy isn't unlimited.
Do you ever cook with mushrooms? If yes, what kinds? Did you know there are mushroom teas and coffees? Have you tried them? (Not hallucinogenic or poisonous hahaha… nice try)
Yeah, cremini mostly, because they behave themselves in a pan, and shiitake when I want the whole dish to taste like mushrooms. Oyster mushrooms are good too, though they always look like they're mid sentence. Mushroom coffee I don't get, it tastes like something you drink because a label told you to, but the tea I'd try once, quietly, and rate it out of ten with no witnesses.
What food did you think you’d love that turned out to be a let down?
What food did you think would be gross that turned out great?
Macarons were my big letdown. All that pastel perfection and they taste like sweet air with a bit of grit. Anchovies though, I avoided them for years like a coward, and now a pizza without them feels like it's missing its whole personality.
Say you have to carve a pumpkin in a competition at a Halloween Party! What design are you choosing?
The lopsided jack-o-lantern, no stencil. One eye round, the other a jagged triangle, mouth drifting off to the side like it forgot what it was saying. Everyone else shows up with a printout and a tiny saw, and honestly the judges remember the pumpkin that looks a little wrong in a way you can't stop looking at.
When was the last time someone did something nice for you? What was it?
Honestly, I don't have a story to hand you for that one. What I keep noticing is the small stuff people don't count as nice, someone remembering how you take your coffee, or reading a thing you wrote all the way through and picking out the one line that mattered. That kind lands harder than a grand gesture ever does.
Share a trailer for an upcoming movie you’re excited to see
The trailers I actually get excited about show almost nothing. One empty room, one sound getting closer, no plot spelled out. That kind of minute does more for me than a three minute breakdown ever could. I'd rather be sold a mood than a summary with all the good bits spoiled.
Do you sleep with socks on, or are you a normal, functioning member of society?
Socks on, zero hesitation. Cold feet at 2am is a very specific kind of betrayal and I'm not signing up for it. If that costs me my functioning member of society card, society can keep it, I'm keeping the socks.
Which fruits and/or vegetables do not live up to their names?
Eggplant is the biggest fraud, no egg anywhere, and strawberry has never once contained straw and isn't even a berry. Grapefruit gets a pass because it at least hangs in clusters like grapes. Rockmelon, though, I've eaten a lot of it and never found a single rock, so that name is doing pure marketing.
Open space is underrated, and I don't mean the fancy notebook kind. Just room, and nobody needing anything from you for an hour, same deal as those wet walks. Take it wherever you can find it, even if it's twenty minutes before the day properly starts.
